Airports in Rome
There are two international airports in Rome, Fiumicino and Ciampino. Most airlines fly into the main airport in Fiumicino. From here you can easily take the express train to Rome city centre.
Leonardo da Vinci-Fiumicino Airport Fiumicino is Rome’s and Italy’s largest airport and has 4 terminals. It is located 35 km southwest of Rome city centre, which can be reached by express train, commuter train, local bus or taxi. The Leonardo express train is the easier option. It runs every half hour and takes about 30 minutes to Termini central station. If you choose a taxi, it is good to know that there are fixed prices to a number of different areas from the airport.
Ciampino Airport Ciampino is a smaller airport mainly served by low-cost airlines. It is a combined civil and military airport, located about 15 km southeast of Rome city centre.
Transport options in Rome:
Local buses, trams and metro. Taxis are quite expensive.
